SonBlest has been locally owned, operated and serving the Southern Indiana area since 1991. The telephones are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be available when help is needed. Sharon Toy is the office coordinator, a position that she has held for the past 14 years. The company is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau and has approximately 50 workers or caregivers that are thoroughly screened, have their references checked and have undergone police checks. Some of the caregivers are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), although SonBlest provides nonmedical caregiving service to the elderly in their own homes.

SonBlest’s caregivers offer help in many areas, such as assisting clients with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting. They also perform housekeeping duties, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, remind patients to take medications, transport patients to doctor’s appointments or rehabilitation and provide companionship. What if clients have houseplants or pets that need care? SonBlest workers are prepared to handle these duties. Whether it is writing letters, answering the door or telephone, doing laundry or ironing, or assisting the client with light exercise, SonBlest caregivers can fulfill all of these needs in a caring and experienced manner.

SonBlest believes in the value of the client being cared for in his or her own home, surrounded by the things the person loves and people who care. Patricia Ward says grateful clients and their families have sent them thank-you notes, and mentioned caregivers in clients' obituaries. An elderly man who fell was able to stay in his home since a SonBlest caregiver came regularly to clean and see to any needs the gentleman might have. Some clients call SonBlest when their family members are going out of town and cannot be there to care for them. Whether a client has a need for a caregiver on a regular basis, around the clock, or sporadically, SonBlest is able to provide quality caregiving in the client’s home.
